Frequently Asked Questions
What is nspire.you?
nspire.you searches real reviews across Reddit, Insight Timer, Spotify, Audible, YouTube, and more, then matches you to the resource that worked for people who went through exactly what you're going through. Every recommendation is ranked by real results, not popularity, clicks, or paid placement.
What modalities does nspire.you cover?
Meditation, Breathing, Yoga, Movement, Nutrition, Music & Sound, Therapy Techniques (including CBT and DBT tools), and Books & Courses. Each modality covers multiple specific approaches — for example, Breathing includes box breathing, physiological sigh, 4-7-8, alternate nostril, and coherent resonance breathing.
Does it cover physical wellbeing too, not just mental health?
Yes. Our library covers mental wellbeing challenges (anxiety, sleep, grief, stress, existential concerns) and physical wellbeing (chronic pain, tension headaches, body practices, nutrition). Many resources serve both — yoga, for example, often addresses anxiety and physical tension simultaneously.
Who is nspire.you for?
Anyone who wants a real, specific answer to 'what might actually help right now' — whether that's a meditation newcomer, someone who's tried everything for sleep, or someone dealing with a specific physical issue. You don't need any prior practice or knowledge.
How does matching work?
You describe how you're feeling in your own words, and a language model maps that to the closest situation in our taxonomy. The resources for that situation are ranked by real people — every one a public comment or review, each linked to its original, describing that resource or practice helping. First-hand reports people leave here after trying something are shown separately, always labelled, never blended into those counts. No sponsorship, no popularity ranking.
How is the ranking calculated?
By counting, not scoring. Each resource's place follows how many real people back it for your situation — marks you can count on the page and check at the source. Where a listing has no real people behind it yet, it sits below every reviewed one and carries no evidence marks. We never turn this into an invented percentage.
What happens when I describe my situation?
The finder asks 2–5 adaptive follow-up questions — each one generated specifically from what you wrote, not from a fixed script. If your first input already makes your situation clear, you'll get results after just one exchange. If more detail helps sharpen the match, we ask — once. We don't make you fill out a form.
Does nspire.you learn from my history?
Yes, over time. When you rate resources you try, your history shapes what gets recommended next — resources you rated negatively are excluded, and if one modality consistently hasn't worked for you, the system tilts toward others that have worked for people with similar histories. This works on your first device without an account; signing up makes it cross-device.
Where does the data come from?
The resources live on public platforms — YouTube, Insight Timer, Spotify, Audible, Coursera. What ranks them are real people — public comments and reviews gathered from YouTube, Reddit and X, each stored with a link to the original. Research citations come from public indexes like PubMed. We never fabricate evidence or use paid placements.
What happens to my data?
You control your data entirely. Everything you log is available for export and deletion on your Profile page. Individual sessions are never shared or exposed. What you type into the finder is used to find your match and is not saved to any history — we keep only which situation it matched and whether the session completed.
Is my search data private?
Yes. The words you type into the finder are not stored — matching happens in the moment, and only the matched situation is kept. Nothing you type is ever quoted in any public-facing context. Community stories are fully anonymized — no names, no identifying detail, and sharing one is always your explicit choice.
Is it free?
Your first finder session is completely free — no account required. Signing up (free) gives you 5 sessions per rolling 30 days, plus cross-device history. A subscriber plan ($4.99/month or $39/year) provides priority access within our daily capacity.
What does 'daily capacity' mean?
nspire.you runs on a real, fixed monthly API budget. On most days there's plenty of capacity for everyone. On unusually busy days, the system may briefly pause for lower-priority requests — guests first, then registered free accounts, with subscribers deprioritised last. This is stated plainly before you spend any money.
Is this medical advice?
No. nspire.you surfaces self-guided wellbeing resources — things people have found genuinely helpful. It's not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. If you're in crisis, please contact a helpline or medical professional immediately.
