Dinacharya is the practice of anchoring the day to consistent timing — waking, eating, and sleeping at the same times daily — on the premise that vata is soothed by regularity and routine more reliably than by any single calming technique performed inconsistently. Classical guidance emphasizes waking before sunrise, warm regular meals at consistent times, and a wind-down period before sleep, treated as the foundation other practices are built on top of, not a replacement for them.
