kabbalistic hasidic practice
Practitioners set aside time alone, traditionally outdoors, to speak out loud in their own everyday language — not formal liturgy — expressing whatever is actually present: confusion, complaint, gratitude, questions, in any order, for a sustained period such as an hour. Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, who taught this practice, emphasized ordinary speech over polished words specifically because the point is unfiltered honesty with oneself, not eloquence.
